The ride of my life!!

June 29th, 2008

My reservist involved in the National Day Parade fly past… Where the Chinook flew past the parade with our Singapore Flag… Well, actually, the Flag is more of my reservist focus…

Today (Sat) I got a rare chance to sit in the helicopter with my group of NS brothers. The special part is, the helicopter is the one with the flag which will fly past the parade square…

530pm the flag was hooked up at Sudong, it then flew up to open up the flag… then flew around the west seas of Singapore for 6 rounds until the time is about 640pm… Our Chinook was accompanied by two apache helicopters… From west we flew from the open sea, past vivo city, Mount Faber, then over the buildings and roads, then we had arrived at CBD area… The flight started to get lower, and we saw buildings from our windows…

At 645pm, we flew past the parade square, saw the esplanade, saw the crowd near the merlion park there, saw the Singapore Flyer…

In short, the feelings are hard to describe, simply great!! Even from Sudong on my way back to base… Such a great experience!! Love it!!

The End

I’m going to miss him and remember him for the rest of my life

June 25th, 2008

On the 23rd Jun ‘08 Monday, 1202pm, he passed away, at age 90… It was a moment I didn’t want it to come at all… But this is life, it is a cycle of all nature…

When I was young, I lived with them. Only weekends my parents will bring me home… I left their care when I’m registered in Primary one…

He was like a grandfather to me… When I lived with them, I always remembered he would buy ice cream for me, bought nice cakes for me… I remembered I used to beat his stomach for fun as a kid, force him to buy a fishing toy for me, let me sit on those 10c rocking elephant… He is always patient and seldom throw his temper…

When he was on his way to work and walk to the bus-stop, I would shout out to him from the 12th storey where I lived, and we waved each other goodbye…

When I was living with my parents, I would go to have a short stay with them during school holidays, and he would bring me and my cousin to the playground and bought ice cream for us… There are so many things I learn from him… He was someone who I respect alot…

Last year end, I visited them, and I neglected the elder ones, only talk little with them, while only focus on talking with his son… I felt really bad…

Last month, my family was visiting them again and this time, I took the chance to show my concern and listen attentively to what he said… Held his hand before I leave…

That was the last time, I will ever hear his voice, see his smile, hear his laughter… That was the last time I could hold his hands and talk to him…

I’ll remember him forever and forever he will live in my heart… I miss you my dear "great grandfather"…

Happy Wiraing at year 12!!

May 23rd, 2008

Just happen to remember that the family’s old old car has just passed year number 12!!

Seems like my family has been really making full use of it since mid ‘96 till now…

Yup, it drinks fuel, 50 litres of fuel covering only around 500km even on light footed, which translate to about 10km per litre, no good at all… Indeed the engine wear and tear is showing signs here…

Overall, still running fine, just that very slow acceleration is now less smoothly, it jerks… Showing signs of the some areas or sensors related to the throttling is getting less sensitive…

I doubt it would last this long if me and my family drives it daily… Nowadays, it’s either we covered only short distance within a week, or very long distance once a week. Fuel prices is a burden these days… But once a week drive doesn’t affect that much…

No_plate_3_copy_1    Wira_and_pica_2_copy_1

Ok still hope that this WIRA  can last till the day I can afford a car, but by then will Singapore have ERP everywhere? Will fuel prices rises to $3 per litre? I strongly believe these factors will become a reality very near future… Let’s see the space… Meantime, enjoy life, no worries, let’s work hard and play hard and appreciate life around us, forget about others!!

Mercedes CLS 500

May 16th, 2008

Last week went to compasspoint to shop around. At the toys department, I happen to see those 1/18 scale models and spotted one of my all time favourite, a CLS!! Almost grabbed it and heading for payment!!

Then spotted its price tag ($69), so decided to inspect its condition before committing it. Saw that it wasn’t that good. At such a price, I expect good quality products, so I didn’t give it a go… Then flip the box around and saw a sticker some sort like the toys distributor address. So decided to head home and yellowpaged for it.

Yesterday, after work (finally cleared majority of the paperwork!!), went straight to search for the distributor and WaLA!! Found it!! And I got a very tip top condition CLS at a retail price of $47!! That’s $22 off from other shopping centres!! WohoO!! Next time, I can get model cars from there!!

So here are the pics of my newly owned CLS…

That’s about it. That’s my very CLS dream indeed… Below are some of the range I wish to collect in future,

- New S-Class
- 300C
- Quattraporte
- Rolls Royce Phantom LWB

Currently, some are not available, even if they do, they are going to be very expensive… See how is it… It’s such joy to collect models, just keeps me happy for a day at least!! Till next time!! More blessings to come!!

Drive around exploring

April 4th, 2008

Hi there!! Haiz havent been feeling good these days… or months… Anyway got myself a Digi-camera… So can go take pics whenever I like…

Actually this week off days plan was to camp at Punggol Marina… Riding bicycle along Changi Coast Road… So far only the latter one managed to realise half of it…

Today drove to Changi Coast Road and Naval Base area to check out the cycling track there, but too bad, couldn’t even park my car to get down and walk around to explore the place… The plan was to explore first before bringing my bicycle over for a ride…

Managed to find a new place… Take a look…

P1030200

How many places in Singapore where you can see light blue colour sea water? So far this is the first place I can find it… The view is panoramic…

P1030201

On my left is ehrm… where the East of Singapore is…

P1030207 Then on my right is CBD… Below is a closer view… But very foggy…

P1030206

P1030204

Here’s the restaurant where you can enjoy the  scenery and sea breeze… Bet at night the ambience would be even nicer!!

P1030205

Yup, see those attap huts, people can sit in there enjoy meals and sceneries… Wah, next time if I got girlfriend I sure bring her here!!

P1030209

At the same time, while having meals, enjoying sceneries, you can see aeroplanes flying above your head preparing for landing near Changi Airport…

P1030202

So far, this is a place that is very close to what I’ve experience in Australia, in terms of overall scenery, ambience, and the feel good factor… Yes it is that close except for the weather… Haha

P1030212

So this is the place… Operating 10am to 10pm, serve wide varieties of dishes…

P1030216

So I left Changi headed towards Cosy Bay… Guess what?! To my surprise, Cosy Bay has ceased operation!! Sad… What’s left is only the platform extending out to sea with the lighthouse… Sad… Such a nice place and it… Haiz… Felt very disappointed, I decided to drive to Marina South to look see… Along the way, took a few pics of the Singapore Flyer…

P1030217

Singapore Flyer…

P1030221

Here’s one view of Singapore Flyer taken at Marina South… Damn, I hate to say again… Marina South now is a dead town man… All shops are in the process of demolishing, it’s just a dead town lah… Can forget about gathering there… Just when I thought such nice places are rare, it gets even more rare!! SG is getting boring…

P1030226

Driving along ECP, with the city on my left…

P1030231

Driving along ECP towards Changi Airport again, heading back to Changi Coast Road… See a plane preparing to land at the airport…

P1030234

Forgot to turn on my camera to burst mode, which is to take continuous shots when holding the shot button… This is at Changi Coast Road… Saw one SIA plane taking off soon…

P1030235

AhhHH, it took off right in front of me and I’ve just missed taking the entire picture of the aeroplane…

P1030236

There it goes, up in the air!!

P1030237

Up and up in the air!! It’s nice to see the plane roar its engine, speed up and take off right in front of you… It’s very nice!! It’s more spectacular when the runway wet and when the aircraft starts its jet engine, u see the water spraying behind the plane… WoOO so nice!!

P1030242_1 Went to Changi Beach and saw one shore line, the only one that stretches out to sea and it is a flat beach which ehrm… slowly merges into the sea water… It was low tide that’s why the extended beach is reveal…

P1030244 It is only a small piece of beach that extends out to the sea, I was fortunate to see it for the very first time after so many years of visiting the place…

P1030247

Then up ahead, saw another plane taking off… Don’t forget, Changi Airport is behind me…

P1030249 Saw quite a few streams of water flowing towards the sea, I found it quite ehrm interesting, so took a pic of one of it…

After all the exploring, I decided to head home and continue my trip at night after the rain had stopped…

P1030266

So after a meetup and some chit chatting at Queenstown Park Macdonalds with Steven, we decided to head to Mount Faber… So I can enjoy the sceneries and take MORE pictures!!Haha… Here is the first picture pointing towards the west of the island taken at the highet point of Mount Faber…

P1030269

Here is one shot pointing towards central of the island which is CBD area…

P1030276

Here’s Sentosa in view…

P1030279

There is a bar at Mount Faber… Very nice ambience indeed…

P1030278

With candle lit on the tables… The place is very cosy indeed… I like it…

Ok till then… Take care!!

Shooting_fish

Though cant see hear in pic, the actual situation is that some ikan bilis are placed on the stick, and the fish would aim them by shooting water out from their mouths such that the ikan bilis would fall into the water and these fishes can eat it… Incredible arent they? And there is never a time these fishes miss a shot!!

Fishes_with_legs_crawling

These are two examples of the fishes I saw… Instead of fins, the have legs to crawl on shore… Weird fish…

From_rooftop

This pic is taken from the rooftop of the resort we are living in…

At day of arrival seems to be boring but during evening the excitement begins… BBQ dinner, fireworks… The BBQ dinner was great, all fresh seafood BBQ, great taste, great ambience… Imagine sitting on a platform with sea surrounds and the dishes were served, best part is there are no limitation to each dish served, such that we can order them over and over again until we are full!! Joining such trip is  really worthwhile such that all spent was only RM80 and can enjoy fresh seafood!! Hmm, should find more of such places in Malaysia… Next target. Desaru!! Haha

Ok that’s about it. Till next time!!
